welcome

(photo of my sister's backyard fence...all photos are thru my lens)

This is just a way to express my thoughts as I walk this path and journey through as a breast canSURVIVOR.

Make cancer mad, just piss it off by misspelling it..... like "canzer"

In remission ~ December 2012

Invasive Moderately Differentiated Ductal Carcinoma T1cN0M0 Stage 1

Estrogen receptor-positive cancer - Here is how it began

Time Line

My journey began when I had my routine annual mammogram on November 28, 2011.  I received a phone call just a few short days afterwards requesting that I have a diagnostic mammogram, which took place December 7.  They knew what they saw right away. On December 9, we received the diagnosis.

Invasive Moderately Differentiated Ductal Carcinoma T1cNOMO Stage 1
Estrogen receptor-positive 1.3cm

Surgery was Dec 20 and a lumpectomy was performed. Good news!
My first appointment with the radiologist was December 30 (day before our wedding anniversary).
My first appointment with the chemo oncologist was January 4, 2012. The next day, a power port was implanted in my left arm.
My first chemo was January 12.  I watched my arm and chest carefully and finally showed my oncologist who immediately had an echo done and had me admitted.  Multiple blood clots.
My last chemo cocktail was April 26.  I still have Herceptin every 3 weeks.
Daily radiation took place from June 4 to July 19.
I began the 5 year pill on August 27, 2012 ~ The journey is not done “yet”
